Wedding : Victor & Marisela

November 29, 2010

I was invited to second shoot this wedding with Andrew back in…..oh..August, but I still remember the day from start to end! :D

Let me rewind a bit here. I met Victor and Marisela when I was going with Andrew to shoot their engagement photos. We didn’t end up shooting that night and instead, went out for dinner and I honestly believe that worked out for the better. We chatted and I got to learn about them..how they met, how they started dating and the proposal which, by the way, was a great story because Victor and Marisela are such funny storytellers.

Fast forward to their wedding day. The ceremony was a traditional Catholic ceremony and it was all in Spanish so I didn’t know what anyone was saying. All I knew was that we weren’t to use flash or take photos while the priest was praying :)

Just before the reception started in Kleinburg, we had a bit of time for photos with the couple and oh was the light amazing or what. Kleinburg is a nice little area just north of Woodbridge and west of Canada’s Wonderland. It’s similar to Main St. Unionville so I’d love to go back and explore some more.

Victor and Marisela, thank you for inviting us to join you on your extra special day and for treating us like friends. Your kindness was simply amazing. You and your families are awesome and I’m thankful to have met all of them. Congrats! : )

Beautiful light :)

Wedding Hairstyle : Vinci

August 17, 2010

On a hot summer Saturday, wedding hairstylist Ming invited me to join him at Liberty Grand to do a hair change for Vinci. That day was the craziest day to drive downtown due to road closures, construction, Jays game, TFC game, etc., but we made it and Vinci made it so all was well on that front.

The bridal suite was tucked away upstairs near these windows where sunlight streamed in nicely. There was a classic red velvet couch which was perfect for some couture shots.

Hairpins and a few spritz of hairspray later…

Love it!

Wedding : Rayan & Nida

July 23, 2010

I had the privilege of being a guest at the wedding of Ben’s high school friend. The banquet hall was beautiful and the events of the night were fun. The violinist played covers of top 40 hits like Kanye and OneRepublic. And of course, the food was so good. Oh I wish I could’ve gotten seconds.

Our table was pretty close to the bride and groom’s so I got a nice shot of them while they snuck a few minutes to eat hehe. I also borrowed some light from the videographer :D

This was shot with the 5D, 50mm 1.2 (Thanks Andrew!) because I was cameraless for a few days before I picked up my new friend :)

Wedding : Sam & Fiona

July 13, 2010

I can’t remember the first time I met Sam. It was sometime in high school..maybe grade 9 or 10? Anyway, it’s no surprise that Sam is a teacher because he’s always had that skill and passion to teach. He’s always willing to teach those who are willing to learn.

The first time I met Fiona was at a birthday party about 2 years ago, if I remember correctly. It was basically all of my friends and then Sam arrives with a girl. I didn’t think much of it. Why? I don’t know.

Fi, being a good sport, played along with what we thought would be a good joke. She was told to chat it up with another one of our friends as if she was interested or something and they ended up playing the basketball-shooting game while we watched and laughed :)

Fast forward to July 1, just about 2 weeks ago. Sam and Fiona had flown back to Toronto and were ready to celebrate :) The sun was out and the sky was cloudless..I love days like that!

Congrats, Sam + Fi!!

This just describes them so well

Hi Sam!
