Pass It On: Wedding Ideas

February 13, 2011

One of the things I appreciate from the photographers I follow is their willingness share information and their knowledge. So I’m going to start a “series” called “Pass it on”. If you know someone who might find this useful, pass it on :) . It probably won’t be all wedding-related but if there’s something specific you’d like to know, feel free to leave a comment or send me an email and I’ll do some research.

I’ve been thinking about sharing some sources of inspiration/ideas/eye candy I’ve picked up along the way so here they are :) They’re sort of in order of preference. Only sort of. The first one is first because it’s Canadian and I think most people who read this are Canadian. I love the second one because it’s cleaner in design and I never get bored of the ideas there. The rest will speak to different tastes so check them out if you need some inspiration :)

[Edit]: These are not ideas for myself but for the many friends who are getting married within the next year :P

1. Wedding Bells: Canadian wedding magazine featuring local vendors. There’s a lot of information on where to find what you see on the site.

2. Style Me Pretty*: Unique wedding themes, Do-It-Yourself ideas, dresses/accessories look book.
*This one is my favourite because all the featured weddings have a southern, laid-back outdoor, vintage-y feel to them.

3. The Knot: Tons of ideas and pictures on cakes, dresses, colours, invitations, vows, traditions, favours, music, etc.!

4. Inside Weddings: The style of this site is chic, couture, elegant, fabulous

5. Your Wedding Day: Articles, tips and trends…for your wedding day :P

6. Martha Stewart Weddings (Notable mention): Martha Stewart is Mrs. DIY and this site has lots of creative ideas for decor. There are also planning and budgeting tools you might find useful.

I hope this helps! If you read wedding magazines or blogs that you think others would like, let me know and I’ll add them :)
