In 4th year, my professor recommended a book called The Laws of Simplicity by John Maeda The title alone was enough to make me want to read it. I went to watch John Maeda’s talk on TED which made me want to read the book even more. I just started the book this week so as soon as I’m done, I’ll do a book review. |

Janet: Thank you for sitting down with me and letting me pick your brain.
Me: No problem. Thanks for having me.
Janet: First off, what made you decide to start this photoblog?
Me: There are a few influences. Last year, when I was working on my senior thesis project, my professor suggested I start a blog to record everything I worked on. Academic blogs are pretty popular with my professors. I’m finished school now so this isn’t for grades; it’s really to keep track of what I’m learning and what I come across.
Almost every photographer keeps a blog of their progression as a photog. And as for this interview idea…well, I borrowed it from Clinton Kelly :p
Janet: And what’s with the name?
Me: A muse is the source of an artist’s inspiration. Some things inspire me and others just amuse me.
Janet: So you want to be a photographer when you grow up?
Me: Hmm, I think I’d like to keep it as a hobby. Ask me again in a few years when I’ve grown up.
Janet: Why did you choose the colours on this page?
Me: I originally only used the blue-teal colour but decided to add the orange to liven things up. The orange alone on charcoal grey/black would’ve looked too halloween.
Janet: And the font?
Me: I’ve always liked Century Gothic because it’s simple and clean. I hope it doesn’t hurt anyone’s eyes.
Janet: It looks good to me. What should readers expect to see here?
Me: Photos, but not entire albums…that’s what my SmugMug is for. Hmm, thoughts about what I’m learning, links, etc.
Janet: I see. Well, I look forward to seeing photos…it looks kind of boring right now.
Me: Umm thank you for your input.
Janet: You’re welcome. Glad I could help. Thanks for chatting with me…let’s do this again sometime.
